Udon Thani Potash Mining Project joined the Rocket Festival

 
 

The Udon Thani Potash Mining Project joined the Rocket Festival at Nong Pai sub-district, Muang district, Udon Thani, on May 30th, 2015. Activity done by the
project was to supply the drinking water to the people attending the festival and waiting to see the procession on the Mittraphap road.

 
  Boon Bang Fai or skyrocket festival is one of the Heetsipsong or twelve traditions done each month for the northeastern people. This tradition is generally conducted in May or June (Note : count December as the first month) which is in the rainy season and also known as the rice farming season that includes planting, seeding and plowing.  This is to worship Prayatan or god who can predestine the raining water for the rainy season to be normally abundant. When the procession started, there was raining that made the people’s sound of merry and refreshed. This could much reduce the hot condition for all the people attending the procession
